The ministry to our children, ages 4 through 6th
grade, is overseen by various members in the congregation under
the supervision of the deacons. The programs and classes are meant
to present the Bible in an entertaining format in order to promote
learning. Following are several of the programs that the congregation
offers in addition to and in support of the Sunday morning and
Wednesday evening Bible classes.

Jesus And Me Class (JAM)

The Jesus and Me (JAM) class is a special class devoted
to children four years old through the fourth grade. As an alternative
to trying to keep your children quiet and still during the Sunday evening
worship hour, this class, allows the children to learn and explore the
bible stories and characters in an entertaining and challenging way. Through
songs, skits, puppets and games the events and people of the Bible are
brought to life and presented to the children in ways they can easily
understand. Often the applications learned are carried forward to show
the attitudes and behaviors that boys and girls who love Jesus should
have. Children are generally invited to attend JAM class just prior to
the start of the sermon and will be released from the fellowship hall
after the close of the service. Three JAM teams rotate the responsibility
during the year with each team responsible for a month at a time. JAM
class is not held on those Sunday evenings when our small groups meet.
Parents are always welcome to visit the class. Unlike the nursery this
is not a baby-sitting service and we would ask that you please observe
the age recommendations. If you have a talent in singing, acting or puppets,
or would like to develop a talent in any of these areas, and would like
to be involved in this activity please stop by the class sometime and
let one of the adult leaders know. We look forward to teaching your children
and sharing the many lessons from the Bible.

Timothy and Tabitha

The Timothy and Tabitha class is a special 2 year program
offered for 5th and 6th grade students which meets each Wednesday evening
from September through February. The name of the class calls attention
to two individuals in the Bible that lived the characteristics taught
in these classes. Students in the Timothy and Tabitha class will learn
to be leaders and servants in the Lord's church. There is time spent learning
how to research, outline and prepare Bible lessons, as well as, assisting
in Bible classes. Also included in the curriculum are general overviews
of both the Old and New Testaments, a study of the Bible's origin, encouraging
others and learning to have healthy prayer lives. Once a month there is
a devotional following the Sunday evening service, usually in a home.
Students enjoy singing as a group and spend time discussing Biblical principles
in an informal atmosphere. To provide an opportunity for the students
to share some fun and fellowship with their peers in the church, an activity
is scheduled every month. The goal is to keep it simple, FUN and as inexpensive
as possible. Families are welcome to attend too.
